Austrian Defender's Heartfelt Message to Mbappé

Austrian defender Kevin Danso expresses regret over Kylian Mbappé's injury during Euro 2024 match, wishing him a speedy recovery.

Austrian defender Kevin Danso expressed his regret over the injury sustained by French star Kylian Mbappé during their Euro 2024 clash. Mbappé suffered a broken nose after an aerial collision with Danso during Monday's Group D match.

Danso, who plays for French club Lens, took to Twitter (X) to address French fans, saying, "I am sorry and I wish him a speedy recovery. I hope he finds his place back on the field quickly."

In the same message, the defender also commented on Austria's 0-1 loss, highlighting the "great battle with an unfortunate outcome" for his team. He then addressed Austrian fans, thanking them for their "amazing support."

Mbappé's injury occurred in the 86th minute when he jumped for a cross but collided with Danso's shoulder, falling to the ground.

The French star, who had set up the winning goal with a cross that was deflected into the net by Austrian defender Maximilian Wöber, left the field in the 90th minute with blood pouring from his nose. A source close to Mbappé confirmed his nose was broken, but it's too early to determine the exact duration of his absence. France faces a crucial Group D match against the Netherlands on Friday in Berlin.
